The Chaos of Our First Photoshoot

Recently, Adia and I decided to take some photos for the blog and our Instagram. I thought we were going to have a quiet afternoon and take the pictures, then leave, and the whole process would take about half an hour. Boy, were we in for a surprise.
To start, I knew it was going to be drizzling when we were taking the photos. After some trouble with not being able to adjust the tripod, it started pouring rain. We sought refuge under a cozy awning, and got the camera set up. The photos under the awning were quite nice, and then we took some in a corridor, which also turned out well.
Things seemed to be looking up since it stopped raining and we were able to walk back without getting soaked. At the end of the trail there was a small bridge that covered a little creek. Since it had been pouring rain, the bridge was completely covered by water and we had no way of getting back. So we improvised: I climbed on some rocks and thought I was good, until I stepped on what I thought was a patch of pine straw, but was actually about a foot of water. Now the bottom of my jeans were soaked, and my doc martens had water sitting inside of them. During this whole process I also slid on a rock, leaving my bottom completely soaked. Adia also got soaked- she was wearing cute new shoes and didn’t want to ruin them so she took them off and went barefoot, getting soaked up to the knee.
Overall, our first photoshoot was definitely memorable and something to look back on as a funny memory.
